When I saw the above layout in my May issue of Dwell I sighed in satisfaction. They layed out their "daily spread" beautifully. It included a finely curated grouping of items that I now wanted, especially that perfect lil egg cup. As you've heard from me before I love a good egg. Somehow this most simple food in all it's gooey oozy glory is comforting to me. My husband learned to make my favorite breakfast, soft boiled eggs and toast soldiers after we were married and has surprised me on several occasions with breakfast in bed.

The only thing that could improve one of those much appreciated breakfasts is the Meg Egg cup that was featured in the above spread. It's designed by Donna Wilson. Originally from Scotland, she now runs her studio and workshop in London. If you get a chance please check out her online shop. She and her team make some great items like her Will & Kate gloves, Beehive Tea Towel, and Ingrid Beaker cup.

I remember early in my marriage I attempted to make each meal an event...then it went to each holiday meal an event...now that every one is raised and gone, each meal is on the run...this makes me want to go back to an event every now and then....
Hope you can visit my site today...it has a story that I think you will enjoy!!
Yes, I'll admit I remember my first meal I made Thomas when we came home after our honeymoon. I used our new cloth napkins and our pretty new plates and set everything out just so. He loves to eat in the living room so that doesn't happen every day anymore but I still do the full set up every now and than to, like you said, make it more of an event.
